Arjun’s striking pictorial compositions, embellished with elaborate tonal and textural variations on single or double-colour themes and a rich profusion of intricately integrated symbolic detail, are saturated with a moving lyricism – sometimes serene and self-contained in modulations of mystic blue and green, and sometimes charged with the energy of exploding oranges and yellows that overflow onto his canvas in mobile sprays, swirls and droplets of vibrant colour.
These effusions of colour are however balanced and contained by the formal integrity of Arjun’s compositions. Clean lines and divisions cut his canvas into symmetrical or asymmetric panels. And forms within forms, dense with detail, images and design elements define the space within.

Art Education: 1st Class, Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A.) in Western Painting from Government College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata 2002; 1st Class, MVA from Government College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata 2005.
